Zinc work
Fascias, roof valleys, flashings, downpipes and cladding: everything that carries the water and protects the weak points of the roof.

The problem
Why it matters
Zinc lasts fifty years, the soldered joints far less once they start moving. A tired roof valley or a lifted flashing lets water through exactly where you cannot see it from the ground.

Frequently asked questions
Your questions
Zinc, copper or PVC?
Zinc for the life-to-price ratio, copper for longevity and looks, PVC when the budget decides. We never let copper and zinc touch: that is corrosion guaranteed.
Can a holed roof valley be repaired?
Locally, sometimes. But a roof valley that goes through in one spot is usually worn out all over. We say so plainly.
How long does a zinc fascia last?
40 to 60 years in Belgium, less near a heavily polluted road or under trees that keep it damp.
Is scaffolding needed?
For a complete fascia yes, for a one-off flashing no. It is priced separately and stated up front.
New zinc clashes with the old, doesn’t it?
At first yes, for a few months. It weathers in and the difference is gone within a year or two.
Do you do underground downpipes?
The connection as far as the inspection chamber, yes. Beyond that it becomes groundworks and we point you elsewhere.
